Welcome to The
Pamela Hindes Method

(incorporating M.U.T.T®).

If you are having trouble with your relationship with your canine pal....

or perhaps feeling like that so important line of communication has definitely broken down, or indeed was never there in the first place,

struggling with certain behaviours and/or training.

I can help you...

Hello. I’m Pamela Hindes, Canine Behaviourist* and Master Dog Trainer**.

I have spent over a decade not only helping create beautiful mutually rewarding relationships between owners and their canine companions, but also helping rebuild those that have become strained and fractured.

Whether you are starting out on the journey of life with your canine companion (puppy or adult), or are some way along the path there will be one commonality, which I realised long ago, is that it takes ‘two to tango’ in any successful dog/owner relationship.  It was from this insight that I set out to develop the Pamela Hindes Method which incorporates my own training method, mutual understanding & trust training ('M.U.T.T').®

“I'm at the end of my tether. I don’t think we can keep our dog much longer if this behaviour continues. It’s all such a mess, I simply cannot cope anymore.”

My heart breaks every time I hear this from an owner but I do understand. When an owner or family feel that their dog’s behaviour is out of control, where their relationship feels like it has failed, it can become one of the most stressful and difficult situations for any household to handle.

THAT IS WHY... I set out to apply my academic background, to unearth the secrets to what makes for a successful human/canine partnership.  Over several years I obtained a raft of academic qualifications, reviewed countless scientific studies, dived deeply into behavioural science and spoke with and listened to experts from around the world.

The real ‘aah haa’ moment

was when I realised it was not all about the science, as valuable as it was.

The science, like the training was simply part of the recipe.  There was something much deeper, obtaining that connection and mutual understanding, which took a good smattering of humility and soul searching to find.

I was finally on my way and through trial and error, refined my method with one core principle in mind: the secret to the perfect human/canine relationship is to work with, educate and ultimately deeply connect and train both ends of the lead.

Many dog owners mistakenly blame their dog for displaying behaviours they find unacceptable, when they are simply behaving in a way that makes perfect sense to them.

Like us our dog’s will engage with their environment and those around them in a way that works for them. However, unlike us they have a wonderful ability to live in and for the moment and are not constrained by a sense of morality or guilt….  To them your designer oak table is just as suitable for a yummy relaxing chew session as a piece of beef tendon and….  Yes, that squirrel is so worth chasing right now!

There’s no doubt our canine companions learn habits, we would rather they did not, but that is generally our fault not theirs!  Some behaviours are innate and many are learnt and those learnt behaviours are NOT only acquired when we are training them!

“I was so frustrated. I know he isn’t a bad dog but I just couldn’t seem to get through to him, he simply deliberately ignores me.”

If you are:

having trouble with your relationship with your canine pal;

or perhaps...

feeling like that so important line of communication has definitely broken down, or indeed was never there in the first place, struggling with certain behaviours and/or training.

 I can help you……….

However, in order to do so I need to be able to work with you and your dog to help you both rebalance your relationship and to create the mutual connection, trust and understanding essential not only for any relationship to be successful but also key to an effective training and behaviour modification programme.

The Pamela Hindes Method works,

but it is not for everyone.

Nothing makes me happier than reconnecting my clients with their canine companions and helping fix the bond between them. The good news is with most training and behavioural issues once we get a few things sorted, change usually happens fast and providing you follow my advice is permanent. Before we work together, it’s really important for prospective clients to understand their role in the process. I’m here to help you fix the problems you’re having. This requires attention, willingness and focus on your behalf.

There’s a term I hate, ‘dog training’. It puts the onus on one end of the lead. When it fails, I hear things like ‘my dog is untrainable’ which is incorrect. No dog is untrainable. But some owners are…

“It was as simple as that? I can’t believe we suffered for years and in a space of a few weeks he’s gone from devil to angel”.

"I love my dog and I’m committed to building and improving our relationship"

"I’ve got an open mind and I’m willing to accept I may have to change some of my own behaviours"

"I can commit to a training plan (which will be drawn up specifically around my individual circumstances) with Pamela"

"I am willing to spend a little time each day reinforcing what I’ve learned"

Is the Pamela Hindes Method for you?

If you can relate to the statements above then the Pamela Hindes Method is for you.

I don’t outsource my behaviour modification work or training to a team and I don’t fill my days writing books or maintaining an Instagram following. When I’m not face to face with clients (which I love) I’m studying, sharing insights with other experts or spending time with my own four beautiful dogs.

When we work together you have my full and undivided attention, and in the spirit of real partnership, I make myself available via email (and in emergencies phone and text) to help coach you and answer any questions or solve any problems that crop up along the way.

Ready to get things back on track between you

and your dog?

I ask all prospective clients to fill in a short questionnaire (it’ll take you no more than five minutes). From there I can assess your needs, have a short phone call and add you to my waiting list.
